Brașov (Kronstadt)
Brașov (Kronstadt) – walking tour below Mount Tâmpa
Guided old-town walking tour
The Black Church, the market square and the narrow Rope Street – discover Brașov's old town at a relaxed pace.
Brașov – Kronstadt in German – lies picturesquely at the foot of Mount Tâmpa and was one of the most important cities of the Transylvanian Saxons. Its old town invites a relaxed stroll, with stories of trade, guilds and centuries of Saxon culture.
At its heart stands the Black Church, the largest Gothic church between Vienna and Istanbul. We continue across the market square with the old town hall, through Catherine's Gate and into Rope Street – one of the narrowest lanes in Europe.
